Megan Mohler
Megan Mohler has a BA in Psychology and Comparative Studies from the Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University. Her past research has looked at how media consumption influences perceptions of police legitimacy. She has also worked in the field assessing compliance with police reform measures. Within the department, she contributed to a research project examining the impacts of progressive prosecution policies. Her interests broadly lie within understanding the nature of social problems. Recently, she has published a study examining the influence of spirituality on binge drinking. Her dissertation is looking into recovery from problematic substance use and understanding the role that reflexivity plays in mediating structure and agency within the behavioral change process.
Dr. Mohler will be joining WVU's Sociology department as an assistant professor in the Fall of 2026! |
