Religion & Society Group

Housed in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University, the Religion & Society Group aims to understand how religion shapes and is shaped by individuals, communities, and culture.

Research

Faculty and student members of the Religion & Society Group are engaged in research to improve our understanding of religion's role and influence in society. ​Explore our research areas and publications. 

Training

Faculty members of the Religion & Society Group are training undergraduate and graduate students in the social scientific study of religion. ​We are looking for motivated students to join us. 

Community & Engagement


Members of the Religion & Society Group meet to share ideas, support each other's research, host speakers, and engage the external community.
