Rachel Stein

Dr. Stein’s research is focused primarily on community building and solidarity in Old Order Amish communities. Her current project utilizes Amish newspapers and directories to examine movement and growth patterns of an Amish community, the importance of affiliations within Amish settlements, visiting practices among the Amish, and rituals that build and maintain solidarity within the Amish community. For this project she is working closely with the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center.
